The Aftershocks
medium.com

I was asked to create a .gif of a house interior during an earthquake. The article chronicles the controversial aftermath of the devastating quake that happened in L’Aquila, Italy in 2009. I wanted to capture the movement of the “tremors” before the full-on earthquake, although this tremor is infinite, never resolving.
This image and the all the animation was made in Photoshop. thanks AD Erich Nagler!

Rebecca is amazing!

Y does everyone hate America

uoa:

i dont ‘hate’ the US or the people that were born and raised there i just dont really have many reasons to like the idea of ‘america’ either. idk my opinion is biased, i was born in a very anti-american country (argentina) where the US is defined as the first and the only country to drop an atomic bomb (that says it all) i basically grew up seeing images of kids with their arms or legs blown apart or killed by a US raid. since i was little i learned about how the US has been the primary source of skyrocketing fuel costs and the ensuing global crisis, about its foreign policies that are increasingly unacceptable and its government’s appalling attitude to issues like pollution, environment n arms race, about how the US has bombed n suppressed islamic nations and restricted them financially commercially and politically. i could list every conflict that the US has been involved in supplied weapons to one side or both 2 make a profit from or secure oil but i have no time 2 list nearly every conflict across the world. when i lived in boston i wrote a bunch of essays about how the US has rewritten the global financial and trading system in its own interest, sent troops to every corner of the globe sometimes without troubling the UN, etc. and literally every time i talked about that or every time i ‘attacked’ on the US they claimed i was attacking on freedom itself, as if america is synonymous with freedom. tbh that’s enough to make any non-american cringe. i didnt ‘attack’ freedom or ur so called icons of democracy, i criticized the pillars of american commerce, their military power, government and foreign policy. i dont ‘hate’ america, i dislike pro american evangelist aka patriotism combined with ignorance.
